The problem

Reading the chart is the easy part

Turning what you see into a plan you can size, risk and review is where most retail traders come unstuck.

Image
Problem
Guessing the levels

You can see the chart, but not where the setup actually invalidates. Entry, stop and target end up being a feeling rather than a number.

Problem
No record of what works

You take the trade, it wins or it loses, and nothing gets learned. There is no honest record of whether your reads hold up over time.

Analysis scattered everywhere

Screenshots in one app, notes in another, a spreadsheet you stopped updating in March. The context is gone by the time you need it.

The loop

Scan. Ask. Journal.

Scan any chart

Photograph or import a chart from any platform. An AI vision model reads it and returns trend and its strength, numeric support and resistance, detected patterns, and a trade plan with entry, stop and targets.

Ask follow-ups

Every analysis comes with a chat that already knows the full context of the read you just got. Ask what invalidates the setup, why a level matters, or how the risk looks before you commit.

Find out if the reads work

Log the trades you take and close them. Anything logged from an analysis retro-scores that analysis, so the accuracy figure is built from your own outcomes rather than from a marketing claim.

Capabilities

Everything around the scan

The analysis is the core. These are the parts that make it usable session after session.

The CandleScan risk calculator working out a position size

Risk calculator

Turn account balance and risk percentage into a position size, an R:R and the margin the trade actually requires. The maths that decides how much you lose when you are wrong.

Saved strategies across the top of the CandleScan scan screen

Your strategies

Save the setups you actually trade. The one you pick rides along with the scan, so the read is framed by your approach instead of a generic one.

The CandleScan trade journal listing logged trades

Full history

Every scan you have run, searchable and filterable, with the original chart image kept beside the read so you can see what the AI was actually looking at.

It reads the picture, not the platform

There is no broker connection and no data feed. If your platform can draw a candlestick chart, CandleScan can read a screenshot of it.

How it works

Chart in, plan out

No account linking, no broker connection, no live data feed. Just the chart in front of you.

Honest by design

A wrong number is worse than no number

That line is written into the AI prompt itself. These constraints override growth optimisation, and they are why the app is worth trusting with a decision.

97%

Of the people who day traded for more than 300 days, 97% lost money. That is from a study of 19,646 retail day traders tracked over five years, not a marketing figure. It is also why the app leads with the stop, the invalidation and the position size: the numbers that decide how much you lose when the read is wrong.

CandleScan showing a no clear play card instead of inventing a trade setup
A real result: no setup, and the app says so.

It says when there is nothing there

When the chart is genuinely indecisive you get a wait card and what to watch for, not an invented trade plan. Most tools will manufacture a setup because you asked for one.

No invented statistics

Pattern base rates carry their source and their caveats. The setup score is labelled a subjective estimate, because that is what it is. When the price axis cannot be read, the numbers are suppressed rather than guessed.

Educational, never advice

Not a signals service, not a prediction engine, not a financial adviser. It says so on every screen that shows a number, and it will never tell you to take a trade.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Still need a hand?

Our support page has a contact form and a real inbox behind it.

What does CandleScan actually do?

You photograph or import a screenshot of a trading chart. An AI vision model reads it and returns a structured technical analysis: trend and its strength, numeric support and resistance levels, any patterns it detects, and a trade plan with entry, stop and targets plus the risk maths that follows. Around that sit an AI chat, a trade journal, and a position-size calculator.

Is this financial advice?

No. CandleScan is an educational tool. It is not a signals service, not a prediction engine, and not a financial adviser. Every analysis carries that disclaimer, and the app will not tell you to take a trade. What you do with the read is your decision and your risk.

Is there a free trial?

No. CandleScan is subscription-only from the start, on a weekly, monthly or yearly plan. That is deliberate rather than an oversight: running real AI vision analysis costs money on every single scan, and a free tier would mean charging paying users for people who never intended to subscribe.

Which markets does it work on?

Crypto, stocks, forex, indices and commodities. It reads the chart image itself rather than connecting to a data feed, so any platform that renders a candlestick chart will work.

Do I need to connect a broker or exchange?

No. There is no account linking, no API keys and no live market data connection. CandleScan only ever sees the chart image you choose to send it.

What happens if the chart is unclear?

It tells you. If the price axis cannot be read reliably, the numeric widgets are suppressed rather than filled with guesses. If the chart is genuinely indecisive, you get a wait card explaining what to watch for instead of an invented trade plan.

How is AI accuracy calculated?

Only from your own closed trades. When you close a trade that was logged from an analysis, that analysis is retro-scored against what actually happened. It is a record of your results, not a marketing statistic, so it starts empty and builds as you use the app.
